Privacy
RadioApp has no user accounts, no analytics SDK and no server of its own. Almost everything below is a description of data we never collect.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. We do not ask for an email address, a phone number or a name, and there is no login. We operate no backend that could hold a profile of you.
What stays on your device
The app keeps a small local database on your phone so it can remember your choices between sessions. It never leaves the device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
- Your selected country and your favourite stations
- Your six presets and the last station you played
- A cached copy of the station directory, so the app opens fast and survives a poor connection
- Your theme and sleep-timer preferences
Who your device talks to
Two kinds of connection leave your phone, both started by you.
- The community directory at radio-browser.info, to list and search stations. It receives your IP address and your query, as any web request does. Its mirrors are run by volunteers and are currently hosted in the EU.
- The broadcaster’s own stream server, when you press play. Your device connects to it directly — the app never proxies, transcodes, records or caches audio, so the broadcaster sees an ordinary listener and we see nothing at all. A broadcaster’s server may sit outside the EU; which one you reach is your choice of station.
Crash reports
The app ships without a crash-reporting SDK. If a future version adds one it will be strictly opt-in, and this page will say so before that release ships.
Children
RadioApp is a general-audience app. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, we collect none from children either.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data. As we hold none, there is nothing for us to return or delete: uninstalling the app removes every piece of data it created. You are welcome to write to us with any question, and you may complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will show the change on next launch. Previous versions remain available on request.
